Message from the Woodstock Hospital CNE

A Message from the Woodstock Hospital Chief Nursing Executive

Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital recognizes that nurses are instrumental in creating a safe, compassionate and positive patient experience. Our core values of Patients First, Excellence, Integrity and Teamwork are exemplified in our Relationship-Based Care model and our focus on exemplary quality. The remarkable dedication and professionalism of our nurses is the foundation of nursing excellence for our journey to become credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Pathway to Excellence hospital.

Shared decision-making is an essential tenant of nursing practice, allowing practitioners at all levels the ability to influence their work environment and positively impact the patient and team experience through the implementation of evidenced-based practices. Nurses participate in shared governance and interdisciplinary committees, sitting at the same table as our leadership team. Nurses are encouraged to participate in our LEAD clinical advancement program for professional and personal growth and development. Professional growth that promotes lifelong learning is encouraged through continued education and specialty board certification. Generous tuition reimbursement and educational opportunities advance clinical practice and care delivery by sparking interest in innovation, research and quality improvement initiatives.

We promote and foster a workplace that is respectful to all and is free from incivility and violence. Equity and inclusion are of paramount importance for our staff and patients and we promote a culture that validates and values each person as an individual. Leader and staff representation from all areas participate on our Workplace Violence Committee to provide safety recommendations and to recognize those who demonstrate exemplary safety practices.

Additionally, Northwestern Medicine promotes a culture of recognition for the contribution of our nurses and healthcare teams. We recognize the impact of nurses in the health of our community and we welcome you to learn more about the nursing opportunities Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital can offer you to be part of this organization and community.

Sincerely,

Lori
