Overview
Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute is invested in groundbreaking clinical services to deliver outstanding, comprehensive heart and vascular care. Our goal is to achieve superior results for all of our patients and to improve their overall quality of life. By placing an emphasis on listening to our patients’ needs, Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute has become a destination for those requiring highly specialized cardiovascular care or seeking a cardiovascular second opinion
The board-certified cardiovascular experts at Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute at Lake Forest Hospital—including the specialties of cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology and vascular surgery—bring extensive diagnostic, clinical and research options, not only to Lake Forest Hospital but also to our two outpatient centers in Grayslake and Glenview.
Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute at Lake Forest Hospital has been the preferred provider of heart care in Lake County since 2008.* Our tradition of providing exceptional heart and vascular care is further verified by receiving Chest Pain Certified designation from the Joint Commission, Disease Specific Care. This certification is a reflection of our compliance with national standards and the consistent use of appropriate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines specific to the chest pain patient population.
*According to National Research Corporation’s consumer survey, Lake Forest Hospital is the most preferred provider for heart care in Lake and Kenosha counties.
We have achieved among the best survival in the country from the most commonly occurring cardiovascular conditions to the most complex – a reason why Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute is a leading destination for both initial diagnoses and second opinions. What sets us apart is that we continue to evolve and create niche clinical programs for patients with complex diagnoses and disorders such as those with atrial fibrillation, aneurysms, heart failure and valvular heart disease.
