About Aging

Aging is the leading risk factor for disease and disability, yet the process of aging is rarely studied beyond chronological age in the clinical setting.

  • Your chronological age refers to the number of years you have been alive.
  • Your biological age refers to the age as estimated by your physical health, which can be influenced by genetics, lifestyle and diet.

With advances in the ability to measure biological age, we are now able to better understand the factors that contribute to aging, how different organ systems are impacted and how to better address interventions.

Your Visits

  1. An initial half-day visit: You will get specialized tests that measure aging across multiple organ systems.
  2. A follow-up visit with a longevity expert to go over your results in detail. This is scheduled for several weeks after the initial testing visit.
  3. A consult with an exercise physiologist and a consult with a registered dietitian to develop a plan specific to you.
  4. A follow-up visit six months after the initial testing. During this visit, we will repeat some tests to assess if and how you have been able to “bend the curve” of aging.
  5. A follow-up visit with a longevity physician to discuss the results of those repeat tests.

A biological age assessment represents a wellness consultation that is not covered by insurance. A biological age assessment is not a substitute for medical advice regarding the diagnosis, cure, treatment, mitigation or prevention of any disease or other medical condition. Unless advised by your healthcare professional, biological age should not be used to determine or alter any health or medical treatments. Your biological age refers to the age as estimated by your physical health, which can be influenced by genetics, lifestyle and diet.
