At the Breast Care Center, we pride ourselves on being a partner in a woman’s lifelong journey of breast care—which includes self-examinations, disease prevention, cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment option management, post-treatment healing and return to wellness. In fact, we’ve even developed more inclusive, detailed detection guidelines, based on our cancer specialists’ experience, for women at high, above-average and average risk.
We have many of the region’s leading, board-certified breast care specialists on our staff and are guided by a Medical Advisory Council of physicians. Our board-certified physicians, radiologists, nurses and technologists all have specialized skills for breast care screening and treatment. In fact, several of our radiologists have subspecialty training in Women’s Imaging, making them highly qualified to read and interpret breast images.
Their expertise is complemented by state-of-the-art technology and exceptional resources, such as:
- ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound)
- Advanced breast MRI
- Digital mammography
- Nurse navigators
- 3D Tomography Mammography
Lake Forest Hospital’s Posy Krehbiel Breast Care Center provides more than clinical excellence—we offer sensitive and caring guidance. In fact, the leading differentiator in our Breast Care Services lies in the skills and roles of our nurse navigators, who play a pivotal role in your health and well being.
If you do face a breast cancer diagnosis, our nurse navigators will discreetly guide you through your personalized breast care regimen—every step of the way.
Every question you might have about risk, treatment, care and healing is answered clearly and directly. Every concern is dealt with sensitively and from the perspective of how medical and nursing expertise applies to you. Our nurse navigators will personally coordinate your physician appointments and follow-ups, as well as offer emotional and spiritual resources.
Any woman with breast questions or concerns—whether she is a patient, non-patient, with or without a diagnosis—is encouraged to contact the nurse navigators at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847.535.6401, our confidential hotline.
