CATCH Early Childhood Program at CDH and Delnor
CATCH Early Childhood Program Training
The Coordinated Approach To Child Health (CATCH) Early Childhood program is designed to nurture a love of physical activity, provide an introduction to classroom-based gardening and nutrition, and encourage healthy eating in children ages 3-5.
Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital are helping preschools, childhood centers and parents by training locations in implementing the CATCH Early Childhood program and providing parent education newsletters to reinforce messages at home for the entire family.
The program goal is to:
- Increase awareness of healthful eating choices
- Increase the amount of healthy snacks provided in the school setting
- Increase moderate-to-vigorous physical activity throughout the school day
- Increase parental awareness of the importance of including physical activity in their child’s daily activities and providing healthy meals and snacks
