Leishman Center for Culinary Health

The Leishman Center for Culinary Health is a facility to educate students on choosing healthy living through food. Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital offers a variety of natural, plant-based cooking classes designed to help you make easy changes for a healthier lifestyle through the Leishman Center. Wellness has so many parts, and food is a large piece of the puzzle. It begins with what goes into your cart at the store and how you prepare it at home. This philosophy is what makes programs such as Eat to Beat: Heart Disease, Eat to Beat: Diabetes, Ingredients for Healthy Living: Fortify Your Immune System, and Seniors Connect and Cook, and Lunch at Leishman fit perfectly to help accomplish the mission of Community Wellness in tackling chronic illness, disease and obesity. Healthy culinary instructors and registered dietitians from the health system lead the healthy cooking classes.
