Program Overview
Minimum 8 week paid program during which student nurses partner with a nurse preceptor to develop critical thinking skills, hone technical skills and learn how to prioritize care.
Program presents a valuable opportunity for nursing students entering their first or second semester of their senior year to partner with a nurse preceptor to develop critical thinking skills and to develop a smooth transition in clinical practice upon graduation.
Eligibility Requirements
- At Northwestern Memorial Hospital you must be enrolled full time in an accredited baccalaureate nursing program; entering your final year of your BSN program with graduation expected by fall/winter of the current year or spring of the following year.
- At Community hospitals you must be enrolled in an accredited nursing school that includes minimally the successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Clinical with clinical rotation. Must provide written documentation of successful completion OR completion of an accredited CNA program.
- All qualified candidates must have a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare certification.
