Symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis
Symptoms of interstitial cystitis include:
- Frequent urination
- Urinary urgency
- Pain in the bladder or lower abdomen
- Pain in the anus and perineum (the space between the anus and vagina or penis)
- Pain during intercourse
- Ulcers in the bladder, in a small number of cases
Symptoms of interstitial cystitis may vary from one patient to another, and from one day to another for an individual patient. Symptoms may disappear entirely for a period of time, but in as many as half the cases, symptoms return.
