5.0 star star star star starJoe was great. He eyeballed my mobility and set recovery expectations in ways I could understand. He also explained the reasons for why I'd need to keep my sling on for x amount of time. Afterward he let me ask lots of questions and cleared up my understanding of the procedure and the healing process. His manner was down to earth and easy to talk to. It's clear that Joe is confident in this work after many years.

5.0 star star star star starJoe Boutet is a wonderful Physician's Assistant at NW Orthopedics. Years of experience, very knowledgeable, professionally, & easy to discuss medical issues & concerns. Having an outstanding PA after ACL surgery means you are much more likely to come through surgery without mishaps. Regular visits that first year after surgery ensure you optimize recovery & minimize risk_no stupid mistakes that cause injury & might necessitate having to redo surgery. It means rehab goes well & you find out the best Donjoy (custom) knee brace for downhill skiing & and what precautions you need to take for all sorts of other sports (biking, cross-country skiing, sailing, tennis, pickleball, & all the rest). Again, these regular one-on-one visits every two months or so this first year are critical for recovery both now & for the future. Joe Boutet is the very essence of superb medical care I have come to expect at NW Orthopedics.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
