5.0 star star star star starKate took a great deal of time explaining my surgery in depth; even sharing new information on how the surgery was performed. Her wealth of knowledge helped me understand why I felt the pain I was experiencing- also symptoms. She additionally increased my trust regarding medical physicians as a whole. Honestly, she explained the surgery and post-op symptoms better than my surgeon. She also talked about the importance of a pain management specialist. I believe Kate genuinely cares about the long-term wellness of her patients. The visit was positive and I left feeling better than I did arriving. I really appreciate the thoroughness, time, and care that she took. I think I'll have a more confident recovery after my appointment today.

5.0 star star star star starAgain polite, informative, professional. Day after surgery as a patient concerned, confused and lost in the amount of pain I was dealing with I asked to speak to a Dr and it felt as though she was there immediately. Post op check up again did nothing but explain my situation showing me xrays and putting any concerns I had at ease.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
