5.0 star star star star starLuis was very personable and he would be someone I highly recommend moving forward. He was able to put things into laments terms when needed, which I feel is tough to find in medical care these days.

5.0 star star star star starI felt that Luis asked me the right questions that would help me to understand what changes I needed to make in the future to be sure my blood glucose levels would stay at the recommended levels. Luis was very friendly and easy to talk with.

5.0 star star star star starLuis listened attentively, offered helpful guidance, and made my time worthwhile. I now better understand how to manage my diabetes and am starting new medication and a CGM. His insight helped me make informed decisions.

5.0 star star star star starLuis was very professional and cordial. I was a bit distracted that day and had to ask him several times to repeat information. He never lost his patience. In addition, I got sidetracked and burdened him with some previous medical trauma. He did not lose his patience with me for this, either. I would highly recommend Luis to any patient in need of diabetes education.

5.0 star star star star starI was grateful that he spoke both English and Spanish. I was able to feel well informed on my dietary needs and I understood better how to read the nutrition label. It's just a shame that he is not yet a permanent member of Northwestern. I believe many other Spanish speaking patients would also like him as a nutritionist.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
