The doctor didn’t listen to me, was too busy to answer my questions, didn’t explain anything to me. My appointment was very abrupt (5 minutes max, including examination). He literally walked out the door as I was asking questions.

Doctor seemed a bit rushed and not at all patient, which was a bit odd because no other patients seemed to be there. I'm not really sure about what he had to do rather than talking to me for 15 minutes but...Was hardly money well spent in this visit.

He didn’t let me know what he was doing before he did it, which I’m typically ok with (I understand why you’re sticking a needle in my arm, etc) but was quite jarring because he was examining my anus which involved some probing - essentially did not tell me when he was about to probe and was painful. Otherwise was fine, maybe I missed him warning me (too quietly?) but would appreciate a heads up before there is an instrument involved.

Was in the room less than 5 min. Poked around and said. Can’t fix it until you lose weight. Said you have an open wound go see a dermatologist. And follow up with your primary. Said that bariatric surgeons may do theirs first and then I can fix it. But can’t do it until you lose the weight.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
