5.0 star star star star starI have had spinal lower back surgery with Dr.Spencer. I had 2 consultations where he explained in detail what to expect and listened to all questions and answered my concerns. Post surgery again answered my concerns. He is very patient. Highly recommend him.

5.0 star star star star starDr.Spencer is always generous with his time when he asked about your pain. Made me feel completely comfortable in taking time and trying to pinpoint when the pain started and how bad it was and did it get worse or better with time.

5.0 star star star star starHe listened attentively. Looked at pages of reports from the last three years and talked to his team about what could be done. I feel confident I have the right surgeon, and am very thankful for the recommendation I received from my doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDoctor Spencer was the surgeon I choose after seeing two other surgeons. He was the only one that did not make me feel rushed to discuss symptoms and treatment options, and the only one that had a frank discussion with me about all the risks and the expectations of a disc replacement surgery. Dr. Spencer replaced two of my cervical discs and did an excellent job. 12 week post-op I am symptom free and almost 100% back to normal. I would recommend Doctor Spencer without reservation.

5.0 star star star star starI appreciated his honesty and his expertise. I was an emergency case and never met him. He called me at the hospital and said he was coming in to do my surgery. I was truly blessed to have him work on my broken back. I was never in any severe discomfort or pain. He came to check on me and answered my questions. I wasn't forgotten. After 6 months and several therapies, I am fully recovered. Dr. Spencer, you get a gold star. Thank you.

5.0 star star star star starFirstly, Dr. Spencer wants to know how I am feeling and what has changed since our last visit. He asks various questions. We have a discussion. He reviews the tests, compares the diagnosis from one year to the other. He is very thorough. When I leave the visit, I am not down. He is encouraging. I trust him to choose the best treatment for my condition which is very important to me.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
