5.0 star star star star starMoving is very difficult for an old lady like me, but it sure was nice finding a wonderful pulmonologist. She was so thoughtful and caring and set up a good program for me and I'm thrilled to be working with someone so professional yet kind.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Otteman is a marvelous doctor. I feel like she remembers me, knows my situation, and cares about me. She's an outstanding doctor and works hard to make a solid health care plan that will take care of my serious medical needs in the very best way possible_considering the pros and cons, involves me in the plan, and refers to where I need to go me when pulmonary doesn't cover it. I feel safe and confident that she understands my issues and that I am going to get better with her looking after me. Thank you, Dr. Otteman!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Otteman is absolutely the best! She changed the trajectory of my rare disease from dismal hopelessness to hope...because she believed in me and treated me. None of my doctors had ever heard of my disease (after the ER told me based on my tests that they suspected it and said I needed to follow up with my doctors). But they refused to look into it or treat me, and they basically seemed to believe it was all in my head or caused by other simple illnesses. I was getting sicker with more pain and hospital visits, and the very professional, excellent, brilliant, caring Dr. Otteman turned things around for me by becoming interested in helping me, sending me for a biopsy, beautifully guiding my tests and medications toward improved health_and she has looked after me well! I'm am very grateful.

5.0 star star star star starShe had diligently searched my records for a better context, and she explained my medical situation in a comprehensible way. She was warm and personable, and I came away confident of her assessment of my situation.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
