5.0 star star star star starDr.Kung was interested in hearing my issues from youth, viewed my transferred chart, assessed my previous labs and gave recommendations. She is easy to talk with and understands my desire to reduce the drug use when appropriate.

5.0 star star star star starAfter over 20 years trying to get rid of a cough first brought on by severe allergies to dust and dust mites (antihistamines worked for most of those years), it had become a serious problem over the last year. Most doctors treated it as though I had asthma as well as allergies, but tests recently revealed that I do not have asthma, which explains why the inhalers most often prescribed did not work. I saw Dr. Kung for the first time in December and after carefully listening to me relating how violent and uncontrollable my cough had become and how it was interfering with my sleep and my social life, she diagnosed my problem as irritable larynx syndrome (ILS) and prescribed a medication that has literally put an end to my coughing. It is life-changing for me and I am most grateful to her for her thoughtful and proper diagnosis.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Kung spent a good deal of time with me, asking all the right questions about my history with allergies and my resulting severe chronic cough. She presented me with all the possible options to treat my condition. For the first time in the past year, I feel hopeful that I'm being heard and that I might be able to live my life cough-free.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Kung was very helpful in explaining the implications of the test results she presented. She took time to ask meaningful questions to try to understand the root causes of my condition. She explained the medications and proper administration very clearly. Her calm and confident manner is very reassuring.

5.0 star star star star starShe was very thorough and read all of my paperwork and test results. She listened to my concerns and did her best to address all of them. My appointment with Dr. Kung was one of the best "new patient" appointments I've ever had.

5.0 star star star star starI was referred to Dr. Kung by my primary care doctor to investigate the possible causes of an allergic reaction that was somewhat of a mystery. While a direct cause was not determined, Dr. Kung did her best to find a "trigger" that could explain an event that I experienced several times. During the times that I visited Dr. Kung, she was extremely friendly and personable and always explained testing results at a level I could understand.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
