I met Jean last year when I thought my IUD was expiring. She educated me on recent research showing the efficacy of the Mirena IUD for up to 8 years. My first IUD insertion was traumatic. I expressed my concerns regarding the replacement, especially given that my IUD strings were "lost" (not visible with a speculum exam) and she offered me multiple options and reassurances to put me at ease for my IUD replacement. This past week, I had my IUD replacement. Not only was she successful at retrieving my strings on first attempt, but she also made the replacement of my IUD extremely quick and safe. She was incredibly reassuring in my anxieties surrounding the procedure, and I am so grateful I had her to replace my IUD!
