5.0 star star star star starDr. Sakulsom was both friendly and calming. His demeanor as I explained my symptoms, showed he was listening and engaged. The suggestions he gave included talking through every day opportunities for me to improve my vision with a significant allergy issue.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderHe dialated my eyes, but did not give me a tinted cover to go over my glasses upon exit. When I w it’s the exam room and entered the hallway, as a result of the bright light I exited through the wrong door and experienced some pain from the bright lights in the hospital. Not to mention driving home was extremely difficult due to the bright light from the sun. I was disappointed at the lack of care provided during this visit from both the technician and the doctor.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI have a cognitive problem & difficulty processing information at times. He tried to explain contact lens choices & became frustrated when I initially didn’t understand. He never asked if I was interested in cataract surgery. When I told him I waited a year for the appointment he doubted that too

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderI found him condescending, bossy, impatient, and a mediocre communicator. Also, he didn't check my eye pressure, dilate the pupils or examined the back of the eye. I felt uncomfortable and cannot trust his expertise. I would never consider going back for another visit with him again. Such a poor visit came as a surprise given the high standards of Northwestern Medicine and the department, an assessment based on my ongoing care with Dr. [ ].

5.0 star star star star starExtremely friendly remembered personal details I told him on a follow up visit a month later. Then spent an hour and a half with me trying to get the correct contacts for me. Would definitely recommend.

4.0 star star star star star_borderDr. Sakulsom was on time, very thorough and professional. At times I had a very hard time understanding Dr. Sakulsom due to his heavy accent. I also found Dr. Sakulsom distant and cold. The notes in MyChart were much more informative than what Dr. Sakulsom told me in person.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Sakulsom was very professional, gave me a thorough eye exam, explained all steps of the exam as he conducted it, and did not make me feel rushed. He made sure I understood what he was doing and what the results of the exam were.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
