Ismene is one of the members of my pregnancy care team. She has been consistent with my care and takes the time to answer my questions via person or via message.

Ismene Potakis had great bedside manner. She listens compassionately and explains her recommended clearly. She was very honest about her knowledge as well as her lack of knowledge on various topics, which I appreciated.

She was fine, did not seem to take some concerns seriously and did not love her demeanor.

While she is thorough and knowledgeable, she seems as if she is in a rush. At times I felt as if I was a number to get through and that she was just asking all the right questions with the right inflection in her voice but didn’t seem as if she cared. This is the perception she gives off- not that it is how she is.

I feel like she dismisses my questions and concerns. At times when I see her, I don’t even want to ask her questions because I know she’ll dismiss it or shrug and say, “I don’t know, keep an eye on it if it gets worse.” She’s nice but I need a someone who will listen to my concerns and address it accordingly. Also, when I meet with her, I get a different response than what is on my after appointment summary. I started to read my summary notes to get a better understanding when it should’ve been addressed at the appointment.

Ismene is very knowledgeable. Sometimes her knowledge can come off as pushy or one sided (ex Covid vaccines). You can tell she loves what she does but sometimes needs to slow down and let the patient express what they need or are trying to say.
