5.0 star star star star starI found Dr. Michel to be personable, able to explain complicated issues in terms I can understand, and highly educated. She answered all my questions promptly and showed compassion regarding my current state of hearing. Should I decide to undergo a cochlear implant, I would look forward to working with Dr. Michel.

5.0 star star star star starShe has helped me several times. She listens and responds to my concerns. This past time, she figured out what was wrong with my hearing aid charger after I dropped it off within a matter of an hour. I appreciate her doing this so quickly. Thank you!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Michel and her assistant met with us to get information about our prior hearing issues and then explained the testing procedures. She made it possible for my wife and I to remain in the same room which enhanced our comfort level during testing and then provided comprehensive explanation of the results. Offering several options for treatment, she is thorough and compassionate with elderly patients. She helped us to make decisions about the necessary device improvements that we need.

5.0 star star star star starAll of my questions were answered clearly, thoroughly, and with relevant detail. At the start of my appointment, Mara explained all procedures and tests to me in a way that made me feel part of a supportive collaboration rather than a passive subject in an experiment. I understood the outcome, options as to next steps, and I feel 100% confident that I received the very best care.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
