5.0 star star star star starHe is very personable and clearly says what should be done. One thing I have noticed and it is just not Dr. Altimari. Mentally, at 77 years of age I'm not as mentally quick as I once was. All of the doctors seem to be in such a rush that I dont feel patients are given the proper time to ask or clarify questions they might have. The nurses seem to be through but the doctors are in too big of a hurry.

5.0 star star star star starVery knowledgeable and skilled. Much appreciation. I do wish the Anesthesiologist or some one would have told me or my spouse about the LMA device. I was surprised by the throat and ear pain. Consulted with a friend who is an anesthesiologist to understand and provide relief.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Altimari went above and beyond to make me be at ease about surgery . I was super nervous as this was my first surgery and I felt he really listens to me and reassured me . The day of surgery he came to see me and gave me more reassurance and I felt ready for surgery. Post op was a breeze ! No complications ! He is the best at what he does , I have very minimal scar from surgery it looks as if it was just a tiny scratch , so he definitely has a blessed hand to perform surgery ! Thank you so much Dr. Altimari

5.0 star star star star starHis lastest Technology and his quest to learn. Learn learn I had him once before, and he did a great job. His personality is without a doubt incredible kindness goes beyond his bedside manner couldn’t be better in his desire to learn more and more very apparent. Very lucky to have a man on your staff like that.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderThe surgery itself was fine but Dr. Altimari was very short in all of his visits. Friendly at first but then showed his lack of compassion post surgery, he was extremely dismissive, and made me feel very uncomfortable. He also downplayed an immediate care and emergency room visit and blamed me for many of the issues. He also tried to discredit many of his peers who did see me and had concerns, along with their treatment of the post surgery setbacks. I'm very disappointed in Dr. Altimari and would never recommend him to any of my friends, families or colleagues requiring surgery.

5.0 star star star star starHe is a very compassionate and skilled surgeon with a warm and caring bedside manner. He took a lot of time to explain everything and answer all my questions. His confidence was so reassuring. I know I am here today feeling great because of him.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
