4.0 star star star star star_borderWhen I saw the doctor today, I was told to wear a regular shoe to help reduce the swelling. I was told that the hospital shoe allows swelling. I have to go back to work in two days. I wish I would’ve been told to wear a regular shoe earlier. I have been off work for 27 days. I would’ve preferred to try to wear a regular shoe sooner than two days before my return to full-time work. I wear a work boot and work outdoors all year long. My foot is still really swollen and an earlier notice would have been greatly appreciated regarding wearing a regular shoe.

0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderI feel I was not treated for something that seems should have a simple fix. I was told to go online to find a pad to wear. The one I was given is not working and they don’t sell anything in the stores that helps, either.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderShe was nice but I felt rushed out the door. She said she was going to look up mail order pharmacies for this medication she said I need. I thought she would be back. Then a few minutes later her MA comes in with my discharge papers & tells me that she sent my order to a mail order pharmacy. I said, okay, why did she choose that one & I didn’t know she wasn’t coming back. She never said goodbye. I set it up and my Rx is on it’s way & so far it’s no charge to me. The tech said it would be around $50/month so I hope everything will be as expected & my insurance just covered more. Her MA that I saw was very nice.

4.0 star star star star star_borderPersonable in demeanor and conversation. Good eye contact. Listened to my experience and reason for appointment. Review of actual xrays taken, for which I am paying:). I did not see her inputting those notes into any system or writing them down. Perhaps that happens immediately after? Actionable, written instructions to take with me.

5.0 star star star star starDr Cisco told me that she doesn’t know why Dr. Smith would have told me to go see my podiatrist. In his notes he says my problem is related to my hips but he never told me that. I’m glad she did.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
