5.0 star star star star starI felt she was caring, I did not feel rushed, it easy to talk to her and she answered my questions thoroughly. This is as close as you can get to an ideal relationship as a patient. The care I received was excellent.

5.0 star star star star starI love that Maria listens to me and doesn’t make assumptions. She tries to get as much information from me as possible so that she can fully address my issue(s). Today was especially nice because when she called, I was able to report a positive outcome to her prescribed treatment.7

5.0 star star star star starAfter my recent surgery, I was given a call (wellness check). At the time I was having some unexpected discomfort which concerned me. Maria was able to include me in her schedule without a prior appointment so that I could be checked out. She also included more instructions on how I could make myself more comfortable.

5.0 star star star star starI was very thankful for Maria P understanding what was going on and sent me to the ER, and I listened and went and was admitted into the hospital. And talking with the dr about the dipstick test results.

5.0 star star star star starThis was the first time I have been seen by Maria Pekic. She had made herself familiar with my history, asked appropriate questions, and provided a thorough exam. The outcome was very reassuring and I will return in 6 months. I felt that the appointment met the standards expected of NW.

5.0 star star star star starMaria was compassionate and caring. She took time to calm me down when I was so nervous and scared. She explained every step of the process and always made sure I was tolerating it ok before proceeding. She made an experience much less traumatic than I had previously experienced at a different facility. Thank you Maria. I really appreciate all you did for me.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
