5.0 star star star star starDr. Guler is an excellent cardiac surgeon — he saved my life twice. He is a very kind and supportive man. I cannot sing his praises loud enough, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing cardiac surgery.

5.0 star star star star starAs mentioned above, I never saw a surgeon as much as Dr. Guler after surgery. Felt genuine concern about my progress. Addressed all my concerns. Felt very confident in the success of the procedure and the recovery process. Couldn’t be more happy with the care I received.

5.0 star star star star starHe looked right into my eyes as he spoke to me. He was very caring and did not dismiss me because I am 70 years old. I wasn’t treated so well recently by an ultrasound tech at another Northwestern facility recently so it was even more appreciated. I'm confident in him and happy to have him help me with my cardiac issues.

5.0 star star star star starFrom the first visit with Dr Guler through surgery prep to post operative care, every person on the team is exceptional. Kind, caring, informative, answering every question my wife and I had without ever feeling rushed. We were the most important patient every time we met with any member of the team! I’m glad I only have to go through this procedure once, but feeling like I won then lottery working Dr. Guler and the NW Cardiothoracic Surgery Team. Thank you!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Guler is rare among the many physicians I have known personally & among this who have cared for me in the past 7+ decades. His professional credentials are of the highest order, having been trained in his country of origin & then spent over 3 years at the Cleveland Clinic performing bypass surgeries. On the personal side both me in my clinical psychology professor wife we’re impressed with Dr, Guler’s depth of understanding of his patient’s need to understand what was going to happen and what did happen post surgery. When asked questions, he provided answers that shows that he respected us as fellow humans who were headed into unknown territory. He always went the extra mile to give us the time needed to make sure we were completely satisfied & comfortable. He is charming & personable.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
