0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderDr Stupp is inconsiderate and lacks empathy. He was 50 minutes late for this appointment and missed my last scheduled appointment completely. Since my first post diagnosis meeting with him he has given me zero time or attention. He is unapologetic about his total disregard for my welfare. During the 10 minutes I spent with him today I found him arrogant and dismissive of my questions.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Stupp is extremely knowledgeable and talented, and yet able to explain complex topics in terms laypeople can easily understand. He never makes me feel like any of my questions are silly (even when I suspect they are) and I feel like he really cares about me as a person.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Stupp’s knowledge, expertise, and fantastic bedside manner make coming to NM for my four month follow ups as relaxing an experience as it can be. I know that even if the news isn’t going to be good—which has not happened yet, thankfully—Dr. Stupp will not only have a plan, but he will be confident in the next steps, too. I’d also like to acknowledge Karyn Schmidt. She is incredibly conversational in the best possible way. She “gets it. I always enjoy the time my wife and I get to spend chatting with her. Additionally, anytime concerns have come up and I message her in MyChart, she responds promptly and with great care and consideration. I couldn’t ask for a better care team than the one I have at NM.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
