5.0 star star star star starHe was competent and helpful. He solicited my thoughts about what I wanted the surgery to accomplish and was respectful of my wishes. He was cheerful and friendly during our encounters. The surgery went well and I have recovered quickly.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderPoor communication pre and post op. Surgery was delayed over 3 hours which could have been managed better with more communication. As a part of pre op the team never called the day before with surgery time so I called around at 6pm to chase someone down to find out surgery time. Was told by team and surgeon the surgeon would call husband coming out of surgery and husband was not called. We weren’t told whether a mesh was used during surgery and nurse had to “guess†at it after checking system bc surgeon was already in another surgery. I had asked for NW to call me the next day to check in and a call never happened. I’m disappointed that I haven’t spoken with anyone from the team or the surgeon since release 2 weeks ago. I’ve had several surgeries and have never had such an isolated patient experience.

5.0 star star star star starExcellent surgical team. Only issue was a review of post-operative expectations and recovery by the one of the surgeons was not as comprehensive as I think would have better set my expectation once I returned home.

5.0 star star star star starI can tell that Dr. Nagle has good bedside manner. He was empathetic to my concerns and questions regarding surgery. He also validated the severity of my symptoms which was a huge relief given that this pain has been minimized by other doctors.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
