3.0 star star star star_border star_borderGot off to a bad start with Dr. Penate last year when I chose him to replace Dr. Mark Stolar, my internist for 32 years. Dr. Penate was all business and did not spend time understanding my medical and family history. As a result, he shared test results that seemed at odds with what I knew about my health after many visits with Dr. Stolar. I asked more questions during my second annual physical and received much more information with better context in plain English from Dr. Penate. I'm now feeling better about the prospects for a long-term patient-doctor relationship with him.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Penate is a very informed physician. I believe that he keeps up on the most current medicines and treatments. I trust Dr. Penate’s recommendations and the time and care that he gives to you when you see him. I would highly recommend Dr. Penate to others.

5.0 star star star star starAs I've mentioned earlier he knows very well how to treat his patients. I could explain throughout how to prevent cause of my sickness. He is very knowledgeable and intelligence about the causes of my illness which is mostly important to seniors like myself.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Penate is very easy to talk to and a great listener. I was only in for a short visit however he took extra time with me and really went above and beyond. I have now scheduled my annual with him and switched to him as my PCP. All around a great experience.

5.0 star star star star starI'd love to recommend Dr. Penate because I believe he does a great job. I don't want to recommend Dr. Penate because he would become too popular and it would be more difficult to get an appointment!

5.0 star star star star starOur first meeting. He spent a full hour becoming familiar with my health over the past 40 or so years. I feel positive that he will step into the role of my internist, defined with passion and expertise by Dr Bob Lenet until he retired 3/31/2022. A potentially difficult transition, Dr. Penate was sensitive to that transition and even schedule a follow up blood panel in Aug/Sept to aggressively monitor my cholesterol!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
