5.0 star star star star starI can't say enough about the wonderful care given to me by Dr. Barber. From her putting me at ease at my initial appointment to the day of my surgery, I felt I was in the best of hands. If you had a higher score than 10, I would give her that score.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Barber is in a league of her own. I am also a physician so I feel I can comment with an understanding of the field of medicine and surgery. Dr. Barber is friendly, straightforward, and has expert knowledge and skills as a gynecology/oncology surgeon. She communicated well with my husband before I had even left the OR, and my recovery from surgery has been great. Her clinic is also run well and efficiently. At one point I needed papers to be filled out for my medical leave and was pleasantly surprised when 45 minutes after requesting this from her, I received the completed papers in the patient portal.
Disclosures
Emma L. Barber, MD reported no external professional relationships for calendar year 2024.
External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
