5.0 star star star star starI met this Doctor before a few weeks ago, And both times he was empathetic, Kind and very knowledgeable. He was able to answer my extra questions about how being sick could affect my pregnancy, And he even gave me excellent advice about using B6 As a help with morning sickness. Through all of my pregnancies I never knew that, and it's a Godsend!!! I think he's new to your location and he's an excellent asset for you to have. My kids were not the patients but he was excellent with them regardless

5.0 star star star star starHe was thoughtful and a good listener, didn't seem like he was in a hurry - he didn't spend extra time but I also didn't feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient. I had time to ask questions without feeling stressed

5.0 star star star star starWhere do I even begin?!?? I have been a NW patient for 5+ years now and have never felt so compelled to write a review as I do after my interaction with Dr. Rourke (and I've had both good and some very unpleasant experiences). I could go on all day about how amazing Dr. Rourke is along with being so attentive, caring, patient, educated, and skilled all while doing it with the most pleasant demeanor and compassion. I have had the pleasure of crossing paths with Dr. Rourke two times when going to the Immediate Care. The first time was the day after Christmas when I had a raging sinus infection that would not go away and was sadly disrespected and turned away for medicine from another provider at a different NW location on Christmas Eve. Dr. Rourke came to the rescue a few days later, listened to my habitual ENT issues, how I have a plan setup to see a specialist in a month and I just need some relief. He took the time to listen to my lungs and do a full examination and agreed that I did need medicine at this point. The next day I already felt better and owe it all to Dr. Rourke. The second time I crossed paths with Dr. Rourke literally helped me so much as I was really in a time of need with my health and a breathing issue. I was hoping he would be the one at Oakbrook so I intentionally scheduled an appointment there. When he came in the room I felt immediate relief of my anxiety that someone was going to listen to me and help. I ended up having stress induced anxiety due to a terrible family tragedy that happened a week prior and haven't been able to take a deep breath or have my chest not feel right for over a week. He went above and beyond, took my health, lungs and long term safety as the highest priority and ultimately gave me a breathing treatment that instantly helped and saved my life. It was so scary not being able to breathe and he literally saved me, I could cry at how relieved to have felt. You never realize how much you take breathing for granted and Dr. Rourke was so attentive, fast to help relief my issue, proactive, and made me feel safe. We discussed next steps including some medicine for now and my plan to follow up with my primary, which I scheduled before leaving the building. I'm now at home finally able to relax and breathe deeply thanks to Dr. Rourke. Again, I can't say enough good things and wish that every doctor were like Dr. Rourke. Thank you so much for being you and please keep being your amazing self, Dr. Rourke. Sincerely your ever grateful patient.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
