5.0 star star star star starI am not a physician so I am unable to evaluate the science involved in the doctor's diagnosis. I can speak to how the physician made me feel during the meeting which was really positive about the recommended treatment plan, all possible options, and the reasons why he rated one over another. He explained the "why" really well in a way I could understand and because of this I feel more likely to follow the plan. Also, Dr. Delapp is an actual doctor so I feel I am receiving the highest standard of care as opposed to a PA or nurse practitioner who have a fraction of the training and experience and therefore would only give patients, even when practicing to the absolute highest limit of their capabilities, advice that is not as medically sound as a doctor can offer. If pilots are the only ones who can fly me in an airplane then doctors should be the only ones giving me medical advice in a hospital.

5.0 star star star star starDr DeLapp is focused on my care and improving my quality of life. He enters the room up to date on what is going on with me and listens carefully to what I have to say. He responds thoughtfully and includes me in the decisions on the next steps. His humor and easy going manner aid in making it easier to be open with him.

5.0 star star star star starDr. DeLapp discusses my condition with me, rather than telling me what to do without my input. He provides treatments that meet my needs and considers various options to maximize the treatment effectiveness. Dr. DeLapp contacts and works with my equipment suppliers to ensure they provide the correct treatment items in a timely manner.

5.0 star star star star starAfter my breathing test I saw Dr. Delapp for a consultation. Dr. Delapp reviewed my breathing test results with me and also reviewed my CT Scan results. Dr. Delapp is very knowledgeable and professional and explained the findings of the CT Scan. I made a one year follow up with Dr. Delapp and am glad he is part of my medical team.

5.0 star star star star starDr. DeLapp - OUTSTANDING! Very compassionate, easy going and patient. Dr. DeLapp wants to know his patients. He asked me questions and I was comforable asking Dr. DeLapp questions. His care for me was evident. I felt comfortable, safe and trusted in his care. It's rare to find one as knowledgeable, accommodating, and concerned as Dr. DeLapp.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
