4.0 star star star star star_borderHe does not seem to listen to what is going on with me. He tells me to talk to my Family Doctor regarding my symptoms. My husband thinks he only wants to hear about symptoms related to my cancer diagnosis. My MRI shows everything is fine; however, I am in constant pain all over my body, which wakes me up during the night. I will consult with other physicians about my all over body pains.

5.0 star star star star starHe is not shy about answering questions which is huge for someone who knows nearly nothing about brain cancer. Additionally, he tells you everything in medical terms but also in English so you can understand. He is a phenomenal doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDr Lukas takes all the time you need to discuss the tumors and what your options would be for other treatments. If you don’t understand it he explains it so you do. Plus very good bed side manners.

5.0 star star star star starI really would always prefer a middle age doctor to a younger doctor just out of school . Maybe this is not fair but young doctors just out of school, make me feel as though they may be truly practicing medicine, because they don’t have the experience .

5.0 star star star star starHis explanation of the results of my MRI (taken just 2 hours previous) was thorough, and he answered all my questions with respect to his area of expertise (i.e., not the seizures I'm experiencing).

4.0 star star star star star_borderAgain, though he seems quite knowledgeable, not only was he late, he presented information (my first time hearing it) very quickly. It was a lot to assimilate. Also, I was there with a friend and no one (him or the student) immediately asked our relationship. Everything felt rushed.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
