5.0 star star star star starDr. Hammond is an exceptional surgeon and truly dedicated to his patients. I first met him the day before surgery, and he took the time to thoroughly explain everything that would happen, ensuring I understood the process. On the day of the procedure, he visited me beforehand to answer any last minute questions and to make sure I felt at ease. His combination of outstanding surgical skill and compassionate patient care is remarkable. I felt completely confident and well cared for throughout the entire experience.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Hammond was great, he was thorough, tentative, personable, and explained everything that he was doing and why in a way that was easy for me to understand. This relieved the anxiety I had coming into this visit. Good bedside manner doesn't often get the credit it deserves in patient treatment so I wanted to take this opportunity to call it out. Thank you Dr. Hammond.

5.0 star star star star starI really didn't get to know him but my procedure went well and I recovered quickly. He was kind and present and there for any questions I may have when he did introduce himself before the procedure.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
