5.0 star star star star starShe knew my history (recent miscarriage that she found during our 9 week ultrasound) and was kind enough to get straight to the ultrasound so we knew what was happening before discussing other things

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI did not feel heard during my appointment. I did not leave with enough information for the questions I had. Felt rushed again. I was in tears while still in the meeting because she kept repeating herself that my questions were not clear. She did not acknowledge that I was in tears. I walked away crying after my appointment. I will not be coming back, and will look for a different provider.

5.0 star star star star starI have been a patient of Dr. Starr for over 20 years. She always treats me with tender loving care. She actually shows that she cares about. Takes her time to listen to you. I am always pleased with the care and attention I have received on all my visits.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderIt was a very rushed experience. Once she knew my age every concern I had was apparently caused by aging. She didn't take time to actually listen and rule out other possible causes. She was very dismissive of my symptoms and had little interest in investigating further with blood work or other exams. There was no interest in finding actual facts to my health concerns. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by being at my appointment. The whole appointment took 15 minutes.

4.0 star star star star star_borderWe were expecting to have an ultrasound today as our return appt, and a little more information on next steps. But it was only a quick check on the baby’s heart beat, and that was about it. Maybe communication could be more clear on what to expect next. Again, as first time parents we don’t know what we don’t know, and we end up relying on whatever doctor says. But if the doctor doesn’t say what we supposed to be aware, we’ll be lost.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
