Dr. Jonas is amazing. She's thoughtful and truly takes into account the whole picture with a patient, but just the textbook recommendations. This is especially important for a patient like my father who has complex intertwined diagnoses and central sensitization, which makes him very sensitive to various interventions. Many providers don't understand this, and she does.

Dr. Jonas cares about me as a whole person. I immediately felt comfortable in her presence from the beginning. She listens and understands that holding space is just as therapeutic as other medical interventions, and sometimes that's what's needed, and I really value that. She goes above and beyond. Most of all, she's one of the few adult PCPs in the region with knowledge and expertise in the types of chronic pain conditions I have, and I'm so grateful. I'm devastated she's leaving the Osher Center and wish adjustments could be made to give the providers more flexibility and work-life balance, so maybe so many providers wouldn't be leaving for concierge and fee-for-service practices.

She cares about me as a person and considers health holistically without judgement. She talks to me like a peer or a mentor, is willing to laugh with me or let me cry, even if it's for things not directly related to the diagnosis in my chart. Significantly, she is one of the only PCPs at NM Primary Care I know of who has experience and knowledge about chronic pain conditions, and is willing to use that knowledge to work with me to come up with interventions and real solutions to improve my symptoms, instead of dismissing or glossing over them like most providers do.
