0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderShe did not want to hear what I had to say to preface the situation which inevitably would have expedited the appointment and saved her time. Because I did not fit into the parameters of what a DX should be she sounded exacerbated and made me feel like an antibiotic seeker rather than an unwell patient that has been experiencing the same symptoms/treatment for 20+years.

5.0 star star star star starDr. VanRoekel is thorough, caring, kind, logical, and extremely knowledgeable. She has always solved my medical issues, and either resolves them herself or refers me to the proper medical technician. She’s wonderful.

5.0 star star star star starI have been to a few doctors and Dr. Van Roekel has been the first doctor to explain things to me so I understand without making me feel stupid for not originally knowing what is being said. She is also very nice and professional and genuinely listens to her patients.

5.0 star star star star starShe is a very thorough doctor very intelligent. Before she even met me she looked at my records not many of them do that. My primary doctor was out of town so she said she would see me. I am so happy I got to see her I think she finally found out what my problem was. I had been to the emergency room because I could not get any doctors to see me on December 8 and when I went to see her on December 26 I was still sick happy to say I’m on my road to recovery. She is one super fine Doctor.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
