I love Dr. Gerard. She always takes the time to listen to what is going on with my health and life. She is extremely thorough and knowledgeable and based on our conversations is able to offer suggestions and a plan for improving my health and symptoms. She then always wants me to let her know if the plan is working to see if I need to do something different.

Dr Gerard has been a rock in my life for over a decade. I know she cares for me as a person and I trust her recommendations fully. I know she is exceptional in what she does - research on top of patients! Her support team are also absolutely fantastic. They respond via the My Chart amazingly.

Dr. Gerard is one of the best doctors I have ever had! She listens, she thinks. she examines and she offers solutions. I always come away from her office feeling that she really knows me, understands me and cares that I am healthy. She is right on every time. She is an expert. She is concerned, she is kind, she cares... a wonderful doctor. I feel privileged to have her as my neurologist.

She cares for us not only as patient but also about other things going on in our lives. She understands how these things have an impact on the seizure condition.

External Professional Relationships

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
