Very friendly, drew us pictures of my heart issue. She knew right where it was leaking from looking at the CT scan and showed us. It helped immensely her taking the time to walk us through it all possible surgery can be scary, but she put me very much at ease. .

Dr. Asgar: I want to thank you for performing an aorta miracle! I never imagined all of the subtle changes I am experiencing as a result of the TAVR procedure you performed just a few days ago. Starting at the top (literally), my occasional brain fog has lifted and concentration has improved; my vision in color perception and clarity is remarkable; my teeth no longer ache; my chemo-initiated neuropathy in my hands has diminished; my replacement hips no longer ache from sitting; my sleep has improved; I feel 20+ years younger. Is all of this in my head ? Or, is it in my heart.? I can only conclude all of these life enhancements are in my heart and from the TAVR. This is a miracle to me and I thank you, Dr. [ ] and your outstanding and effective cardio team. I hope to repay you so please call on me with questions on finance, hockey, running, Lincoln Park/Old Town, education (Lyce Francais) , dining (Les Nomades) or anything Chicago. Merci beaucoup!

External Professional Relationships

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
