5.0 star star star star starAs expected, I actually had very little direct contact with Dr. Gaetano, but his pre and post colonoscopy discussions with me were informative and appreciated. He gave me the opportunity to ask any questions that I may have.

5.0 star star star star starPrior colonoscopy experiences were different from this experience. Not because Dr. Gaetano was any more or less qualified, but because his patient style was different from what I was accustomed to. I was curious if it was because I was a Medicare patient or if this is just how patient care is conducted these days. My prior colonoscopy experience included an introductory meeting with the doctor. I had no interaction with this practice with the exception of a phone call when scheduling. I reached out to the practice through Northwestern to ask a question about my prep timing and never received a phone call back. I would highly recommend a practice with these caveats that I have included in my feedback. Everyone was very kind and I definitely had a good experience, but it was quite different from my prior experiences.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Was opened minded and believed our explanation as to the reason for my wife's liver condition. That it was not caused by alcohol abuse. That she had been born with a single kidney and a malformed liver played a significant part. Other doctors were quick to judge and not listen or consider her medical history.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
