He has an excellent reputation and was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained that his practice is surgery-based which is not something I need right now, so he suggested that two other doctors in his practice would probably be a better fit.

His bedside manner is superb. And he really empathizes with what is the best solution for the patient’s lifestyle and needs. He seeks out questions and very patiently addresses and explains the issues. He is the BEST.

The doctor was nice, and seem to be confident in his knowledge. But, he seemed to have fixed ideas about how things work, I didn't feel I can express myself very well and be heard. I should still wait and see how the outcome would be.

I see without corrective glasses or contacts thanks to Dr Basti’s superior skill in removing my cataracts and implanting lenses. A statement many of my friends can not make. As a follow up Dr Basti always answers my many questions thoroughly and not in a condescending tone. I feel fortunate that Dr Basti is my opthamogist.

Dr. Basti was very kind and took the time to evaluate my condition. He explained my condition thoroughly, was open to any questions and is very knowledgeable in his field. I felt I was in good hands. His assistants also took their time to examine me and guided me through all the procedures which I appreciated.

He did not explain the procedure to me ahead of time. He gave me no option for anesthesia, even though they existed. Dr Basti confirmed I was fully awake. That would not have been my choice if I had been offered one. The surgery was “perfect”’in his words. I guess that is all that matters.

His bedside manner is great. He's very knowledgeable. He treats his underlings well. He does need to figure out what operating on a schedule is. He was LATE FOR EVERYTHING. This is not world class.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
