5.0 star star star star starDr. Amarasekera was easy to talk with. I could tell he was actually listening. He did this in a completely invitational way that was completely non-judgmental. I found myself saying more than I usually say, being more able to get to the heart of the matter.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Channa Amarasekera is amazing, he listens, shows a true concern for his patients, and has a wonderful bedside manner and always offers an excellent plan of action. His nurse Katie N., is just as amazing as Channa. They both have away of making you feel completely at ease during your visit and are both true assets to Northwestern and their medical fields.

5.0 star star star star starMy first visit in July with Dr. A and his PA Zeb was excellent. This follow up was primarily with Zeb, who I had an open + frank discussion with about options for my medical care going forward. Zeb was personable, helpful, provided a great deal of information, and was responsive to all of my questions.

5.0 star star star star starHe's the best! Helped me feel so comfortable! He was thoughtful and very caring. Dr. Amarasekera worked very hard throughout the procedure to keep me calm and relaxed! I was so lucky to have such a professional to get me through with for me and awkward procedure.

5.0 star star star star starExcellent care and follow-up as always. Also, there is much to be said about the respect he garners from his team in the OR and pre-op and PACU. If the surgeon is an excellent doctor, but also a good colleague, the entire team is elevated and brings better outcomes for the patient.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
