3.0 star star star star_border star_borderDoctor was very knowledgeable, but seemed rushed and more intent on asking me questions that have been asked and answered and were already in my Northwestern records. I got answers from him but would have liked to have learned more of the "whys" and "hows". I didn't learn as much as I had hoped.

5.0 star star star star starI am and have been very happy with the care I have received from James Rosenthal since my triple bypass in [year] He is very careful and listens well. His council is to the point and makes good common sense. I am [age] years old and doing well. Cardiac care is a lifetime endeavor once one has issues. If a person were much younger I might hesitate a bit before making an absolute recommendation because of the age difference.

5.0 star star star star starI appreciate Dr. Rosenthal's no-nonsense style. He examined my heart both with a test(ECG) and then with a body heart check. He went over my symptoms from both Afib episodes from this year. It was hard to recall my symptoms from an episode from eight months ago, but with the doctor's reassurance, I was able to recall some of the details. He placed me on a blood thinner in order for me to bypass a stroke. He ordered a cholesterol test to make sure there's not a lot of plaque(?) on my artery walls. He noted my relationship with my general internist and my oncology doctor. My doctor instructed me what to do about extra bleeding form my new medicine and we talked about the Kardia app on my smartphone. I have to follow up with his nurse to get instructions about getting the ECG read over to MyChart for potential care. Dr. Rosenthal is very personal. We had a chance to talk about my diet, which I always appreciate talking about that category. We exchanged holiday greetings, which I liked a whole lot.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
