3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI get that it’s a pandemic. You’re exhausted. You’re gaslit. You’re Dunning-Kreugered. But when your patient tells your that their disability caregiver is opening their mail and committing insurance fraud and poisoning their food like pt’s mother has a hx of doing, “well you’re sending emails to a case worker†is not the end of your job. You were the only person I have been able to see in person since I was hate-crimed in the ER. Because I trusted you. Because you had been so open with me in the past when I was ignorant about something like the prednisone use. I came to you because I have no else in my life who I can talk to. My friends have left the country in fear of their lives and when you’re homeless, you don’t exactly make connections that travel with you when you’re forced to flee a situation that your social worker removed you from. I know I’m imbalanced. I know I’m manic. I know I’m a handful. But you were my ObiWan and I am the planet alderan. I am not going to hurt myself. I am not going to kill myself. Being able to show up to an appointment that I didn’t make it know about or consent to or ask for, was possible because I didn’t cancel the fake appointment when I found out you were the doctor. Severely traumatized from sex trafficking. Intellectually disabled. Unhinged without any mask left to hide my rage. But not stupid. I don’t like being made to feel stupid, Dr Lam. I may not know what you do but I know how Albuteral affects me compared to Xopenex. It’s affected me the same way since 2009. You shrugged it off because they’re similar? Similar? Elavil vs Cyclobenzaprine: the only difference is one bond inside of a hydrocarbon and one is an antidepressant and the other is a muscle relaxant. But two structures as different as albuteral and xopenex are “similar†which they aren’t, so “let’s placate the pt.†Being off of my meds from physical illness doesn’t stop my brain from doing what it does: remembering the things that now give us nightmares.

5.0 star star star star starShe is good, but I feel rush. If I don't have all my questions written down I would not have have time to ask them. How long is a appointment? I don't think she is in the room more than 5 or 7 minutes. My other doctors don't rush me. Again I like Dr. Lam. Just would like my full appointment time no rushing

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
