5.0 star star star star starHe is efficient but caring. Always on time. Friendly has always made sure I understand my progress and treatment and has always asked if I had any questions. I've never felt rushed or unimportant.

5.0 star star star star starHe's listened to what I had to say, and explained to me what he thought was going on, and I loved their knowing I was in good hand that I did not have to worry about what was happening with my rods and my hips

5.0 star star star star starExcellent bedside manner. He calmy explained what was about to happen and answers all of my questions and forthrightly explained the risks and what my life would be like post surgery/recovery. His little personal touches like putting the bonnet on my head, unfurling the blanket and putting it over my lower half and taking responsibility for my eyeglasses and that they would be on my face when I emerged from surgery especially when one of the nurses refused to do so made me a Dr. Merk fan for the rest of my life.

5.0 star star star star starEfficient, timely service, compassionate in a reserved way, felt very confident in his care for a complicated non-healing fracture which required a high level of surgical expertise. Entire process was smoother than I anticipated. Very grateful to his entire team.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
