5.0 star star star star starDr. Merk, provided me the best care possible. His experience and knowledgeable guidance, I was able to have a speedy recovery, without the need of any ADA help. Dr. Merk, has an incredible commitment with his patients, outstanding communication with kindness. Dr. Merk and his team, were able to coordinate with the knowledgeable PT who provided me to get my confidence and endurance back. I am very grateful and satisfied of Dr. Merck’s care.

5.0 star star star star starhe gave me options needed at the time of my injury explaining each one thoroughly which helped me make my decision to have the surgery and felt very good about the follow up visits. I have now been discharged after one year but with the understanding that if I have any difficulty, he is available to see me. His PA's are wonderful as well!

5.0 star star star star starThe work he performed on my shoulder to get me back to where I am, from a layperson standpoint, was nothing short of a miracle. I know he is a top rated trauma surgeon and I was very lucky to have him as my doctor. He also has a very pleasant and professional bedside manner and it is clear he cares about the welfare of his patients.

5.0 star star star star starI saw Patricia Rose. She’s wonderful. Lots of context for the condition, tests done immediately beforehand so immediate feedback, advice, realistic predictions and referral for PT. All questions answered—-many of them anticipated before I could think of them!

5.0 star star star star starAlthough we did meet earlier in the week, I was “out” before I saw him in surgery day. He’s a pro and I know he had many more surgeries to tend to so I was very happy with his entire team who cared for me post-op.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
