Ratings and Reviews
At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
The visit with Dr. Berry was for a second opinion for a stress test I had in September with a Rush Copley cardiologist. The cardiologist I was seeing at Copley no longer practices there and I ended up with the one I've been seeing since he left in 2019.When my stress test results came back, the other cardiologist didn't explain them to me and she is hard for me to understand. At my follow up visit the only thing I got out of the visit was a repeated question of “was I having any chest pain, are you sure you're not having any chest pain” and that I needed to have an angiogram. It sounded urgent, yet wasn't planned on being scheduled until later this month. This confused me and I wanted a second opinion. This led me to Dr. Berry. Dr. Berry was easy to understand, explained things well, and went over options. While he didn't totally disagree with getting the angiogram, he didn't feel it was necessary as the outcome would not make a difference if the artery was unblocked or left alone. This is what my previous cardiologist told me. I felt comfortable with his approach, although if he felt it was necessary, I would rather have Dr. Berry perform the procedure. I'm glad I obtained the second opinion of Dr. Berry and decided to switch my cardiac care over to him. Since most of my care for diabetes, etc. is done by NW doctors and co-ordination would be easier between providers, this was why I decided to change. I thank Dr. Berry for taking the time with me and explaining things, and not being alarmist. I would recommend him to anyone that needed a cardiologist.
He took my condition seriously and saved my life. He is very compassionate, listens to the patient, discusses any health issues and ways to resolve them, I look forward to my annual check ups except for the fact I have to drive to Dekalb
My first time meeting Dr Berry as a referral from my nephrologist for a restoration of blood to my kidney as it was explained to me by my nephrologist that that a cardiologist is the one who works with arteries to put stents in. Dr Berry not only explained things , he allowed my spouse in with us so my spouse could ask questions that I may not think of asking. His staff and he made me feel extremly less anxious and I felt as though trust was established . He seemed very professional and calmed my anxiety I had. Felt before meeting him
Felt like I got a really good exam, staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Dr Berry took his time listened to what I had to say and came up with a plan. I am relieved and excited with his plan and look forward to my follow up.
Dr. Berry is amazing. His is by far the best bedside manner I have ever encountered. He Literally saved my life and continues to be my lifeline to a long healthy life. His assistant whose name I regret I do not remember was wonderful as she always is.
Dr. Berry is an excellent doctor. His humor, intelligence, and perspicacity allow him to explore a problem or condition and work diligently to find possible help and / or solutions for the anxious, concerned patient. He is an affable man with the ability to put the patient at ease, and I am privileged to say that he is my cardiologist. Thank you.
My husband and I were able to go see Dr. Berry together and we enjoyed the visit. He was very friendly and asked many questions . I think that he is a very good heart doctor and interested in his patients no matter how old we are.
Dr. Berry is kind, intelligent, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to get to know me and my problems, explain the issues, and he allowed questions. Dr. Berry is humorous and serious, and I very much look forward to the next visit. Thank you.
Dr. Berry has been our cardiologist since moving to the area 3 years ago. Dr. Berry does not seem to rush our appointments either in person or via phone this time due to the virus. He asks if we have any other concerns he can help with. A good man and doctor.
