He got right to the point. He explained everything very clearly. He showed me pictures of my spine. He had a nice bedside manner. He was very pleasant. He also showed empathy. He told me exactly what the next steps were. He said we will make a plan. He told me everything wrong with my spine.

Dr Dahdaleh spent almost an hour with me going over my condition- potential surgery, explaining everything. He is warm, knowledgeable, compassionate and demonstrates a care for his patient often lost in todays dr/patient environment. He listens to the patient and asks questions to ensure he fully understands the issue from the patient perspective. I’d highly recommend him.

Dr Dahdaleh is great. Very knowledgeable, detailed, and patient. I feel like I am in excellent hands. This is my third opinion and he has been the best. The other two were rushing into surgery and basically had me paralyzed. He took the time to look at the MRI and decide on a conservative treatment. He is worth the one hour and 45 minute commute.

I am a nursing manager who traveled to see Dr. Dahdaleh after receiving a recommendation from a retired pain MD friend. I truly believe I saw the best by making the drive up to see Dr. Dahdaleh instead of using my local hospital’s neurosurgeons.

Dr Dahdaleh is an excellent surgeon which one expects at an institution like Nortwestern. But his warmth and bedside manner were far beyond my expectations! His caring and extra effort to make a patient comfortable is truly remarkable. This has been evident at each encounter that I have had with him. It was specially helpful for me on his pre op visit and each post operative day. Dr Dahdaleh made a difficult period much easier for me! I am so thankful to him and wish him the best.

Dr. Dahdaleh provided me with a professional explanation of what was to occur during my surgery, while still understanding the concerns that I had. While making me feel confident of my decision, he continued to explain that the outcomes and possibilities of what the surgery might or might not accomplish were not totally predictable. I truly appreciated the fact that I was entering into this procedure well informed and not 'candy coated.'

I had been to Mayo Clinic for my problem but saw Dr Dahdaleh for a second opinion and a neurosurgeon close to home.I was very impressed with his bedside manner, the level of detail he discussed during the appointments. He always does a thorough examination and discusses various options. I decided to have surgery with him( instead of the Mayo Clinic). Dr Dahdaleh’s visits were thorough and yet exudes kindness. I am very happy that I had surgery done by him. I have already referred a close friend to see him. Dr Dahdaleh, I am fortunate to have you as my surgeon. I wish all the best!

He’s the first physician (I’ve seen 3 different primary care doctors and 3 different orthopedic surgeons on n McHenry County (plus a chiropractic doctor, and a pain specialist MD). Not one had been able to confirm an accurate diagnosis, (or performed a thorough, relevant neurological exam) with a logical plan to treat (or at least didn’t discuss it with me!). Dr. Dadaleh was kind, yet efficient and took the time to explain why I was having such pain and why I need the type of surgery he suggested.
