He is so up to date on GI issues. My old GI doctor would recommend more fiber or MiraLAX. He made his money from colonoscopies and that's all he cared about. Dr. Cohn really cares. He's so intelligent and really listens.

I don't normally take the time to write these, but I had such a positive experience with Dr. Cohn today. I'm someone who is pretty anxious about going to the doctor, but Dr. Cohn has one of the best bedside manners of any doctor I've seen. When most doctors are too busy to actually get to know their patients as people, he took time to learn a little more about me as a person in an authentic, genuine way. That says a lot. He is also knowledgeable, gave some good tips, and made me feel great about my plan moving forward. I like that he talked about even marathon runners needing a little tweak to their plans (everyone can always do more to improve). This was a really good day, and so many doctors, especially specialists at NU Medicine, could learn from Dr. Cohn's approach to helping his patients.

I asked Dr Cohn a question after my procedure was done. He didn't have time to go into a long answer as he was going into another procedure. But he said he would come back AND HE DID. He did not rush me at all. I really appreciated his attention and care. Excellent doctor.

He is mature and professional beyond his years. In my Medical case he did his homework prior to our engagement. Our interview for him, I believe was to confirm the clinical information he had on me search for any surprise unknowns and to discover what i'm searching for in our Physician/Patient relationship knowing what I do about my conditions and limitations to resolve many of the problems. Since I know that we can monitor and try to control my GI problems on a regular visit basis.

Dr. Cohn is an exceptional physician who takes the necessary time to thoroughly explain every aspect of the procedures both prior to and following their execution. He demonstrates a commendable commitment to patient communication by proactively following up with a phone call to discuss the results, whether they are positive or negative. This approach contrasts with many practitioners who only reach out to deliver unfavorable news. Personally, I wish he could serve as my primary care physician for all my medical needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohn to anyone seeking quality healthcare.

Dr. Cohn is amazing and I was thrilled with how he handled and explained everything to me. I even got my choice for music during the procedure, although I didn't hear it for more than a minute because the anethesia kicked in. Dr. Cohn has an excellent reputation and I can absolutely see why. He is kind, reassuring, highly competent, very compassionate and really listens to his patients. I feel blessed to be in such good hands and have him as my gastroenterologist. Northwestern is lucky to have him on staff!
