5.0 star star star star starFrom arrival check in to the exam by Dr.Ho’s nurse ( who is superb) and examination by Dir.Ho I was well cared for.. Dr Ho is a superb neurologist. I highly recommend him. He is extremely competent, and excellent communicator with great attention to detail. After a complete review of my history and very thorough exam I felt very relieved as he reviewed my case and symptoms. NMH is a training hospital. A young doctor who is training with Dr Ho interviewed me before I saw Dr Ho. He too is superb. . I was amazed at his ability to absorb and remember each detail I told him relating to my history, and symptoms as he reviewed my case with Dr Ho. I feel very fortunate to have this team caring for me.

5.0 star star star star starSam Ho spent plenty of time with me, He is an outstanding and thorough physician. He made an extra effort to see me as early as possible (0730am). He even called me on Sunday to verify the apt. Northwestern is very lucky to have him on staff.

5.0 star star star star starHe did not operate a long long time ago when I herniated two discs in my neck, rather he advised I wear a brace for a time and change my lifestyle, e.g., not lift heavy objects, light purse, roll bag rather than heavy briefcase full of legal documents back and forth on my commute, watch my posture, physical therapy, squat rather then bend over when gardening, etc. He also taught me pain can be my friend - stop and evaluate what you are doing and change how you are doing it. He also taught me the signs that were serious, e.g., tingling, loss of feeling, etc., so I know when to return so I do not harm myself. I will be forever grateful. I am so much better off because of Dr. Ho's treatment of me over the years - carpel tunnel, neck discs lumber spine issues, e.g, a friend with the same type of neck issues, but a doctor who fused discs, now has all the bad that Dr. Ho warned be might happen if I had an operation rather than doing the hard work of changing and periodic physical therapy. Dr. Ho sending me to Shirley Ryan is another big reason - they worked miracles with my neck!

5.0 star star star star starDr Ho, is a wonderful and an incredibly knowledgeable physician. He started my appointment referencing my previous neurological issues and was very reassuring after reviewing my latest brain scan. Love having him as my doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ho was absolutely fantastic. I already have recommended him to a friend. He asked excellent questions to help me best articulate my medical issues, and was patient when doing so to ensure he had the best description to understand my issues. He was thorough in diagnosing, and took the time to clearly explain the diagnosis in a very easy way to understand. He also had a student with him for my visit and I also was impressed by his approach to teaching, so it was a great experience overall.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Sam Ho is prepared for the appointment, shows genuine care, and will take as much time answering questions as needed. Most importantly, he has helped me with headaches which no one else has done for decades.

4.0 star star star star star_borderDr. Ho is very kind and understands my concerns and wants to alleviate my fears. I came to him for his expert recommendation. More has happened since my appointment at Rush and I am not sure all of it is taken in to account with my family history. Concrete answers to my questions would be helpful. (It is my fault that the questions came to me after the appointment.) I don't want to use contrast unless it is truly needed to gather information we are concerned about. I saw my mother suffer a lot and am concerned that sometimes there is too much testing (at health and financial costs) and also not enough, at times even when someone has great insurance. I totally respect decisions by the high level medical doctors who have worked very hard in their field, like Dr. Ho. I think they should definitely order what they would want for themselves if the tables were turned. I learned about the risks of contrast, although small, there seems to be some unknowns. More and more people are turning away from too much medical testing because there can be lasting issues. It is great that you get to have amazing diagnostic tools but the long term effects should always be taken seriously. I know you use it all the time but even without kidney issues or allergy, there can be a residue left in the body/brain? I am not from a great family history and stuff like that make me concerned. I respect his opinion but am not sure I understand what his true opinion is. Will a non-contrast show all that we need to be sure of and if there is something more needed we could do contrast after that first one is looked at or in his expert and impartial opinion, should I get contrast now--- after really looking at my concerns and not just notes and tests from long before I had all my symptoms come up? Honestly, he is fine, I just failed to think fast enough and many of these questions came up afterward- I wonder if my timeline was not clear also.

5.0 star star star star starI thought that Dr. Ho was outstanding! He researched my background through my chart before I came. He gave me a very thorough examination and made clear and very direct recommendations. In addition he was easy to talk to, was charming and had a good sense of humor which is always appreciated.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ho was very thorough even for a video visit. His medical student, Rosh, was excellent as well. Dr. Ho put my mind at ease and gave me confidence that I was in better shape than I initially thought. He was very patient and kind and knowledgeable!

5.0 star star star star starBoth my wife and myself have seen Dr. Ho for the last 20 years and he has consistently treated us considering our whole health picture not just our neurological problems. We consider him an excellent physician and wish more doctors were as professional and thorough as he is.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderNice doctor but I did not feel listened to. Seemed very dated practice compared to recent research on safe medication while trying to conceive (ie Zofran). Implied that me, a women going through infertility treatments "wouldn't know when I was pregnant." Did not want to brainstorm additional alternative meds outside of Imitrex (my previous doctors gave me three med options) & when asked what to do if in crisis again with a 2 week migraine was unable to provide any alternative options to Tylenol & Imitrex (so I guess Ill go to the ED??!). Overall the provider is OK for me but I would never recommend to someone who is new to migraines as did not feel like a true partner my concerns.

5.0 star star star star starHe is excellent! Very thorough. A little old-fashioned on sleep hygiene though, not everyone is the same and sleep can be complicated by other factors like grief. I don't even remember not having insomnia. My "tv" is my computer I watch in bed that turns amber at 4:30 pm. Ever since I physically stand up since getting Fibromyalgia, it can immediately make me wide awake all over again, so getting up from watching a blue lit tv in the living room can be riskier.

5.0 star star star star starDr Ho is knowledgeable and was able to diagnose and treat a problem I've been having for a long time, in a very short time... The intervention he recommended has continued to work. I'm very grateful and happy with the level of care I've had.
