5.0 star star star star starDr. Bawa is hands down the best long-covid consultations I have ever had in my two and half years of being sick. Not only had she clearly studied my file beforehand, but she also took the time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly explain any test results/next steps for my treatment plan. She was informed, empathetic, and incredibly professional. I would recommend anyone with long-covid to start with seeing her.

5.0 star star star star starWhen she examined me she seemed to be compassionate and did not make me feel like I was dumb or stupid. The brain fog I am experiencing makes me feel that way. She assured me that I am not alone. I left feeling much more positive about getting better.

Made specific plans to collect additional data to better understand my condition and made thoughtful prescription recommendations. Empathic and professional care.

5.0 star star star star starI've only been dealing with long covid for a handful of months and in that time I've continuously been brushed off by medical providers. The appointments I've been able to schedule in my area, even with covid specific centers, aren't until next year at the earliest. It's left me feeling isolated and like my health isn't anyone's priority - even when I'm barely able to do my job or leave the house on a daily basis. I was told to be patient. This visit was the exact opposite - I felt heard, seen, validated. She took the time to sit with my mom and I to answer all the questions we had, come up with a plan to rule things out and to manage my symptoms. I'm so relieved having spoken with her. I genuinely came into the appointment keeping my expectations real low due to my prior experiences, but this could not have been a more positive experience. Exactly the kind of care you want when dealing with long covid. Thank you!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
