5.0 star star star star starDr Gates is very concerned about my health. She listens & actually cares about my health. Been hard for me to trust doctors, but since I've been @ NWH, I've felt comfortable about my care than I ever have before.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Gates is among the top three doctors I’ve ever had. Not only is she exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable, she is a fantastic listener and collaborative partner. Well I have transitioned my other specialty care to a different institution, I continue seeing Dr. Gates because of how extraordinarily great of a doctor she is.

4.0 star star star star star_borderDr Gates seemed very knowledgeable and a good listener but I spent 90% of my appointment alone with a Dr. Timothy Rhou. He was not as thorough or as knowledgeable as Dr Gates. He talked quite fast and didn’t offer the solutions that Dr Gates offered. I hope he keeps learning from her

5.0 star star star star starDr Gates is excellent as is her staff. They work amazingly together as a team. She is candid but kind. Goes the extra mile. Her assistant is the same. He also makes sure you are informed and are reassured. They both want to make sure you leave without any unanswered questions. You need to clone both of them ??

5.0 star star star star starI think she is an excellent doctor. I have never felt rushed during my appointments with her, she is very thorough, she will take time to explain things to me, and I have the real sense that she is concerned about me and my well being.

5.0 star star star star starShe was very informative and took the time to explain everything to me (as did her fellow). I've never had a doctor spend so much time....they are usually in a hurry to get you out the door! I would definitely recommend her!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Gates is everything I look for in a physician. She isn't satisfied with just managing my symptoms; she actively looks for ways to help me feel better and live my best life. She is an exceptional listener who brings her whole self to her work and it shows. On top of it all, she has a great sense of humor and laughs at my jokes. Even though coming to NMH is not convenient for me given my distance from the hospital, she is worth the drive and worth the wait, every time.

5.0 star star star star starAll I can say is she meets every criteria I expect in A doctor. Not only does she know what's going on but thinks about how to explain it in a way you feel comfortable and safe before you leave. No limits of time or pushing the boundaries of having the appointment shortened due to heavy volumes of patients. Her kindness and her ability to listen and to communicate back was incredible! I could go on and on just from that meeting but I think this has enough.

5.0 star star star star starDr Gates listens to her patience and makes them feel heard. She has a wonderful bedside manner and makes the patient feel important and not just a cog in a assembly line that needs to be addressed before moving on. She is quite lovely and I felt she truly listened and then diagnosed rather than making up her mind in the first 2 secs.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Gates takes the time to listen and talk to her patients to understand them not just as a patient with problems, but as a person. She also make sure that you understands fully the course of action she has suggested.

5.0 star star star star starFrom my first appointment/visit with Dr. Gates, she was very attentive to the reason of my visit. She allowed my husband to be present to the consultation, and the simple way she expressed her view-point to my needs, I feel I have chosen my new physician well.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Gates quickly established rapport. She asked good questions. She listened attentively. She verbalized her concerns in a way which gave me comfort and raised my awareness. I am glad I now have her as one of my providers.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
