At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
He is a caring and empathetic physician that truly listens to his patients. As a colleague also on the floors I witness his ability to adjust his communication style to each patients needs while still also being his authentic self. He is an excellent communicator of information and makes the extra effort to include the patient's entire care team in updates to the POC
He was on time, explained things in a comprehensive way, and followed up during a phone visit and was very punctual. Some of my other doctors at Northwestern are 40 minutes late with seeing you and with phone visits.
Doctor seems extremely knowledgeable although a little impatient. I was hoping to get a little more information from my visit, but perhaps it is premature until further tests are done. I felt he thought my condition maybe was not that significant which is okay if he did. He perhaps could have just told me. I would likely have left feeling better versus uncertain and not worry if that were the case. My experience was positive for the most part, however.
I was having a knee replacement and found out that I have a slight heart disorder. Dr Cohen was in pre op at the time and was there to care for me. He has followed up with me the whole way with testing and observation and we are getting close to to getting me fixed up and getting my knee replacement. I can't thank Northwestern and Dr. Cohen enough for what you have all done. We are back on track to achieving our goals. Dr Cohen is the go to guy. ?üëçThank you to all.
My appointment was set for 8 o'clock and I was in the room by about five after eight. The doctor was very attentive, answered all my questions, went over my test results with me, and discussed what the future might hold for me in regard to my heart Issues. Dr Cohen also discussed helping me find a new rheumatologist when I return. He is always more than thorough, answers any questions I might have and always makes me feel like he has my care as his top priority.
He may be a competent doctor but it is a shame that the office personnel do not follow through or call back. The last person I spoke with was very nice and said she would send an urgent call to the nurse. No one has contacted me yet.
The appointment was postponed. I called several times and was assured that it would still take place. I called hours later and was told that a nurse would call and talk to me, and still no one has talked to me. The appointment did not take place. The service keeps getting worse every time I go there. I did NOT hear from the doctor. I would never recommend the Grayslake facility to anyone.
I first met Dr. Cohen four years ago when I first visited the Bluhm cardiac center. He is confident and very knowledgeable about the unit he leads. He is very comfortable to engage and I feel he wants the best for all the patients his unit treats.
I never had a doubt about undergoing vein surgery at NWM hospital (Lake Forest, IL), and today's chat with Dr. Ian Cohen, Head of Bluhm Cardiovascular only confirmed that opinion. Our short chat - by phone - covered all facets of my current health condition and my readiness for the transcarotid artery revascularization procedure. I feel very positive about the procedure.
I was given a choice of in office or phone visit which was so considerate. The phone conference I had with the doctor was thorough and everything I needed it to be. The recommendations made were reasonable and appropriate.
Dr. Cohen is very knowledgeable, listens, asks questions, and made me feel at ease. He made me feel comfortable and is willing to work with my Specialist Dr. at the Mayo Clinic. For this I am great full!! Thank you!
Dr. Ian Cohen and his staff are concerned, knowledgeable and timely. Additionally, they were prepared and knew what my particular problems were before they came into the room. I feel lucky to be under the care of a doctor and staff that seems to care and understand their patient.
Dr Cohen went over all results and answers questions thoroughly. My only complaint was that it sounded like he was using a speaker phone which made it a little more difficult to hear, but was obviously easier for him to be using a computer at the same time.
Dr. Cohen was extremely well prepared for our first visit. He had looked over my medical records and knew my medical history before walking in the door. He even made a call to my pharmacy during our visit to get clarification on a medicine I take. He was very efficient, attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant.
Promptness , accuracy, and follow up of scheduling and appointments. .This was the first time I met with Dr. Cohen, I liked his straight forward confident approach to the problem , order the necessary tests and move forward to resolve my health care issue. .This is exactly what I was hoping for.
Dr. Cohen very personable, very easy to understand his explanations, appears to enjoy his work immensely. One of the best doctors I have overall ever..As for recommending the Cardio Care, only reason not a 10 is because it might not be in someone's insurance network.
Dr. Cohen was extremely thorough in all facets of my medical history and specifically the cardiac symptoms that I've experienced both past and present. He gave expert guidance of q&a findings to form an opinion on next step response to further discovery via diagnostic testing. Dr. Cohen's explanations for his thinking were very understandable. I'm extremely comfortable with my next step in his care.
I had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr.Ian Cohen. From the minute my husband and I met with Dr. Cohen, we were impressed with the way he left no stone unturned. Dr. Cohen handled my health issues with courtesy, respect, and compassion. I highly recommend Dr. Ian Cohen when in need of heart health.
