5.0 star star star star starHe saved my life 7 years ago and I think he is fantastic at his job. His concern for me is awesome. I think when your life is danger you would want Dr Cohen to be on call. I can’t say enough. He’s the best

5.0 star star star star starHe speaks clearly. Does not speak down to me and his approach is totally arrogant-free and introspective. I have confidence in his experience and he doesn’t pretend to immediately know ALL the answers.

5.0 star star star star starI was recommended to Dr Cohen, cardiologist when I was diagnosed with Afib. He took the time to diagnose the problem by putting me on a monitor that confirmed my issue. Suggested I have a cardoversion and it worked.

5.0 star star star star starOh my goodness, Dr. Cohen is THE BEST! He is so kind, patient, and down to earth, and explains things in a way a non-clinical person understands. When I first found out about my heart issue, I had been in a car accident and saw a PCP from another hospital system (not NM) for a follow up. I don’t exactly remember why I did that (especially when I work for NM), but I think he was the first one recommended to me. And I really liked him! He heard a murmur and wanted me to get it checked out, and I just decided to go with the cardiologist from that same hospital system. I got an echo with them and they said it was hard to determine, so they wanted me to do a TEE. I went and got that done, and I remember that cardiologist, once the TEE was done, just said to me, “Yeah, you have a bicuspid aortic valve. Follow up in a year or three.†And I was kind of scared because I didn’t know what that meant, so I asked, “Would it be okay if I scheduled an appointment with you to ask some questions?†His response was, “If you want to, sure.†And when I did go, I didn’t feel like all of my questions had been answered and that he was in a hurry. A family member had recommended Dr. Cohen to me and I sat and made my list of questions in a notebook, determined not to waste any of his time and have everything I wanted to know ready to ask. When I got there, Dr. Cohen rolled a seat up next to me, picked up my notebook, and went over every single question I had. He even drew pictures and explained things in a way that I could easily comprehend. He made me feel heard, validated, and comfortable going to a doctor’s office! Due to the other hospital system delaying my medical record’s release, Dr. Cohen even took me to get an echo right then and there so he could see for himself. The difference between the two cardiologists was night and day (and I’m really not trying to speak down about the other one). Dr. Cohen shows such compassion and care, and he’s pretty funny, too! So, yes I will absolutely recommend Dr. Cohen and I actually have been since that visit! A friend of mine was just looking for one the other day and I quickly sent him Dr. Cohen’s information. I’m so fortunate to have been referred to him, myself!

5.0 star star star star starHey, when I first met him for my 1st stent he was with Swedish Covenant. Then, he got an offer he couldn't refuse from NWM and he told me he had a bunch of Dr's to recommend for me but I told him he wasn't going to get rid of me that easily. So we're going on 22 yrs. of patient/Dr care.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships.
